Commonly referred to as 'HIFU' or 'Non-invasive facelift' the Ultraformer III non-invasive ultrasound device lifts and tightens the face for a youthful complexion and can also be used to tighten the body for slimmer contours.

The Ultraformer III triggers collagen renewal by heating the dermal and Superficial Muscular Aponeurotic system (SMAS) layers to induce thermal coagulation. This thermal coagulation stimulates the growth of new collagen over time, promotes the disposal of stubborn fat cells, and restores the skins tone and tightness resolving the appearance of wrinkles and sagging skin.

The Treatment

During the treatment you will feel warm pulses of ultrasound energy being delivered deep under the skin, causing the collagen and muscle layers to contract. Some people may find this uncomfortable depending on the pain sensitivity level of each individual, the area to be treated and the size of the area to be treated. 

 

During your consultation the practitioner will check your skin and will be able to advise on the amount of treatments needed for a desired result. Most of the time (for the face and neck) you only need 1 treatment, and the results last for up to 1- 2 years, others may need one full face session and a few months after may want a top up session on the expression areas to maintain the result. For severe laxity, 2 treatments in the first 6 months is recommended, and maintenance treatments every 12 months after that. There is no downtime after the treatment but It’s normal to experience a headache or muscle ache after the treatment therefore we recommend to come in the evening for this treatment so you can rest after. A little redness or bruising is also normal although it goes down very quickly.

You will notice a visible change straight after the treatment, because this is a heated treatment your skin will feel tighter, firmer and rejuvenated. The full results of this treatment take up to 3 months which is the amount of time needed for the full collagen regeneration process triggered during the treatment.

Can I receive other Anti Wrinkle treatments in addition to this treatment?

Yes, although there needs to be a 4-5 week gap between the treatments. We always recommend having a HIFU first and then do this if desired.

What is the difference between the Ultraformer III and Radiofrequency Skin Infusion?

Radiofrequency (RF) is superficial therefore you need to have frequent treatments on regular basis to maintain the lift. The RF treatment heats the skin up to 40 degrees and only hits the superficial upper layers of the skin which is great for very fine lines and wrinkles, to even out skin tone and texture.  The HIFU heats the skin up to 60-70 degrees and penetrates deeper and will induce more coagulation and activate the skins natural healing process which stimulates tissue and collagen remodelling for the lifting and tightening effect where wrinkle and sagging skin is more pronounced.

Are there any side effects?

Slight redness, usually occurs within a couple of hours after the procedure. Weak odema, can last 2-3 days, Soreness (not visible but felt) of the skin with pressure or constant discomfort disappears after 2-4 weeks. Temporary loss of sensitivity of some skin areas, can last 5-7 days.

All side effects will have resolved themselves within a few days or weeks of treatment.
