Our Doctor
Dr O'Sullivan has partnered exclusively with Skin Rich for the past year and performs our full suite of anti wrinkle services which complement our tailored advanced skin care treatment plans. Dr O'Sullivan is a fully qualified dentist with extensive experience in her primary field, as well as excellent knowledge of aesthetic skin care and aesthetic dentistry. Her detailed understanding of the facial anatomy allows her to prescribe the most appropriate treatment plan and perform this specialised delicate procedure in a precise and very discrete manner with little or no recovery time.
As part of the initial consultation process the patient will meet Dr O'Sullivan to discuss the skin care concerns and appropriate treatment options. Working in collaboration, Skin Rich and Dr O'Sullivan will create a treatment plan that will incorporate a mixture of aesthetic treatments, carried out by our qualified practitioners, direct intervention with anti wrinkle facial rejuvenation, and a maintenance skin care regime using selected cosmeceutical products.

Anti-wrinkle rejuvenation treatment
Over time our bodies stop producing as much collagen which is key to maintaining elasticity in our skin. As a result, as we age we become more prone to forming wrinkles and fine lines notably on our faces as these muscles are constantly contracting and relaxing. Normally when we squint, frown, or make other facial expressions, our nerves release a neurotransmitter chemical, known as acetylcholine. This neurotransmitter binds to receptors within the muscle to make it contract. The anti wrinkle treatment works by binding to the acetylcholine receptors, and blocking the signal from the nerve to the muscle which results in reduced muscle activity. Areas on the face that can be treated include frown lines (vertical lines which form between the eyebrows), ‘Crows feet’, forehead lines and lines around the mouth and top lip, known as 'smoker's lines'. The Masseteric facia muscles can also be treated to give a narrower profile in the lower half of the face or to help people who clench their teeth.
The Treatment:
The injection is quick and painless; usually lasting around 15-30 minutes and requires no anaesthetic.

The Results:
Results will usually be seen in a few days, sometimes taking between 4-14 days for the effects to be seen. This treatment is not permanent and the benefits will reduce over time; it's recommended that the procedure is repeated every 3-4 months for effective long-term results. This will be discussed in more depth at the consultation as many lifestyle factors determine the frequency of repeat treatment.

Dermal Filler Rejuvenation Treatment
There is a difference between the Anti wrinkle treatment and dermal fillers. The former reduces muscle activity to help prevent the formation of wrinkles, fine lines and groves in the surface of the skin, whereas Dermal Fillers are used to add volume and help smooth out deeper wrinkles, grooves in the surface of the skin and restore lost volume enhancing facial aesthetics.
If the skin on your face appears to be thin and sunken, it’s probably due to low levels of If the skin on your face appears to be thin and sunken, it’s probably due to low levels of Hyaluronic acid which a substance that naturally exists between the cells of your body and gives your skin a firm, youthful appearance. As we age the skin's natural Hyaluronic acid is lost giving rise to the appearance of lines, wrinkles and groves in the skin. Fillers usually consist of sterile Hyaluronic acid gels made from non-animal sources. Injecting fillers into the skin acts to replace the Hyaluronic acid that is lost with age with immediate results and improvement of the facial structure and appearance.
Dermal fillers are commonly used to improve lip volume and for jaw enhancement where the patient suffers from a weak jawline. Dermal fillers can also be used to treat other areas of the body where volume is lost with age.
The Treatment:
The injections, which only take a few minutes, are usually administered after a local anaesthetic has been applied either directly onto the skin, or incorporated into the syringe containing the filler. This serves to reduce or prevent any discomfort.

The Results:
The effect of the treatment is visible immediately. Depending on the area treated, skin type and the injection technique, the filler effect can last between six and 12 months (usually six months for lips). Follow-up treatments will help to maintain the plumped up look over time.
